You may have noticed Dr Yoko being away from work recently and wondered why....

Well, she’s been very busy: studying for and sitting her membership exams in Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (VSMR). This was the first membership exams held for this newly founded chapter, with the exam being comprised of two written papers and an oral exam, and represents the culmination of at least 400 hours of study Dr Yoko completed over the last 1.5years.

Dr Yoko was instrumental in establishing the chapter as well as helping to organise two days of cutting edge lectures in VSMR Equine and Canine as part of the 2022 Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) Science Week, which features speakers from the UK, the United States, New Zealand and Australia. She attended Science Week, attending lectures in other chapters of the ANZCVS too, as well as running the VSMR chapter’s Annual General Meeting.

And then coming home she became sick with COVID-19! She would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding of the schedule disruptions that have resulted, and looks forward to returning to work without the burden of membership study in the background!
